I have to say that this was one of the most enjoyable experiences that we have ever had. The area was perfect, not far from town, Canton, or any other places one might want to visit. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area again.

The breakfast was perfect everyday, her desserts are amazing and were always served with a smile! The king size bed was so comfy as was the chaise in the sitting room (it just kind if gives you a big hug when you sit in it!). We were able to observe the eclipse right there on the back porch. Some of our family and friends in the area came to enjoy the eclipse and were warmly welcomed. What else could you ask for?

Charlie and John topped off our stay as the perfect hosts. Not only are they cordial but Charlie is a first class Chef that really knows what a dining experience is all about, and John keeps the acreage in tip top shape with an inviting landscape that makes you feel at ease and actually not like you are stepping on to someones property.

John and Charlie are a very hospitable couple that make you feel comfortable in their home to the point that you feel at ease watching the television with them in the evening before going to turn in for the night. We enjoyed our chats and getting to know them not only as business owners, but individuals.

Like I said earlier, my wife and I will definitely be returning at some point in the future..

We just can’t say enough nice things about our stay at Quail’s Covey. The location is wonderful and quiet, but with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The house is beautiful and our room was well appointed and comfortable. Then there is the food and overall hospitality. Charlie (Charlotte) and John aim to please and they go out of their way to do so. Amazing breakfasts and evening desserts. We just had a terrific 4 night stay and know anyone else that follows us will also.

This past weekend was our 2nd time at this wonderful B&B, this time we brought our daughter & her family, and they loved it as much as we do! Charlie and John are truly lovely people who graciously share their beautiful home with so many people. I honestly feel like they are family, Charlie welcomed us with delicious warm apple dumplings and her breakfast is amazing! Everything was decorated for Christmas, and they had Christmas music playing, it was such a warm and relaxing time and I so enjoyed having coffee with Charlie in the morning while enjoying the view of their beautiful property.
If you are ever in the Hartville area, I highly recommend this B&B.
I look forward to going back one day soon!

We were looking for a special place near our son in Cuyahoga Falls in which we could have our own space and enjoy celebrating our anniversary while we visited with him as well. This place is so beautiful and tranquil, but the best part is Charlie and John. They become fast friends and are the most gracious hosts. Charlie is a wonderful cook and will never let you go away hungry. She treats you like family and provides so many little touches. Fresh towels each day tied up in a bow, coordinating tableware and linens, chocolates and fresh ice water always in the room are a few of the details that didn’t go unnoticed. This home was beautiful and has been home to them for many years while raising their family there. This makes it easy to be welcomed and feel right at home. Honestly it was such a pleasure to get to know them both, we just had no idea what we were missing in our lives. They forever will be our friends and we plan to return there for future weekends. Our best experience with a B&B. I would recommend them to everyone. Your life will only be enriched by staying in their home.

Charlie cooked and arranged an amazing baby shower brunch for my family at Quail’s Covey! It was perfect!

First, full disclosure, Charlie is my friend from grade school. I am proud of her building and creating Quail’s Covey into an award-winning bed and breakfast. Her cooking is to die for and she is charming, kind, welcoming, and fun to be around. Her sweet granddaughter helped her. Quail’s Covey is beautiful, homey, quaint, and lovely. The rooms are beautiful, each one different. The grounds are filled with large green fields and flowers.

For the brunch, we started with tea in different antique tea cups. The menu consisted of homemade quiche, raspberry scones, bread and jam, and apple dumplings, which are her specialty. It was extraordinary hospitality!

Please visit! Enjoy her family, the amazing food and hospitality, and also the wonderful town of Hartville.

I was seeking a quiet getaway in a private place of respite after my father’s passing to honor his memory. Well, my stay at Quail’s Covey far exceeded my expectations! This is near the area, one of my dad’s favorites, where we lived years ago. After a warm welcome, I discovered that some of Charlotte’s family were old friends and she immediately called her brother to come visit a bit. The home was so comfortable that I felt like family for the entire stay, as do most guests there. Meals made by “Charlie” were hearty and delish, served at your choice of table, indoors or out, or in your room. The grounds are so incredibly beautiful, with peaceful and serene meditative sitting spots placed here and there. I got a short tour in the golf cart and there’s a foot-paddle boat to enjoy in the huge pond. Their are donkeys to pet, fish to feed, deer to watch, and waterfowl to watch gliding. Rooms are beyond spacious, well designed, and I LOVED my balcony. Nature sounds of critters and owls and waterfalls lull you to sleep.Sunrise was magical, and there is definitely something very spiritual about this estate. Charlotte and John are so thoughtful, caring, generous and sincere about serving their guests and attend to every detail. I left with new found joy in my heart, my dad’s memory celebrated, and a rested soul. I will be back again, and highly recommend QC for anyone seeking a tiny spot of heaven for a few days.

Quails Covey is a treasured find. Our stay for 3 days with a group of 10 friends who grew up in Canton and still get together each year experienced the hospitality of Charlotte (Charlie) and John and their beautiful home and spectacular grounds to the fullest. The weather was perfect. The breakfasts, deserts, and warm personalities were a constant delight. We felt like we had returned home, perhaps in another life, because it was instant hospitality like that of family. Do yourself a favor and seize the day or days. We plan to return.

We stayed at Quail’s Covey this past Monday and Tuesday. It was wonderful in every way. I have never felt as comfortable away from home. Our suite was spacious and delightful. The owner is the best. She prepared delicious breakfasts. I don’t know where you get get breakfasts as good (even on a Viking river cruise). The grounds are lovely. We hope to stay their again soon.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we absolutely loved it! Charlie was so welcoming
and happy we were there. You could tell she genuinely cared that we enjoyed ourselves and were happy with our stay. She went above and beyond for our breakfast, it was so beautifully arranged and the food was amazing! We decided to eat out for dinner and when we got back she had a homemade rhubarb crunch warm out of the oven ready for us to enjoy out on the patio. The grounds were beautiful, there were flowers and plants everywhere! You could sit on the balcony of your room or the back patio sipping coffee and enjoy listening to the quaint sounds of nature. I loved walking around their pond gazing at the swans. I had hoped to take the kayaks out but it had started to rain so we will make sure to do that, along with hiking the walking trails, next time! Their miniature donkeys were my favorite. Charlie gave me some carrots so I could feed them, which made my day!! The house was beautifully decorated, along with their rooms. They were very cozy and comfortable. The whole experience was perfect, and I would recommend this place to anyone! We look forward to coming back every year! Thank you John and Charlie for such great hospitality and making our anniversary so memorable!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Charlie and John were wonderful hosts. From the phone call to make the reservation until the day we left, it was a great experience. My husband and I came to Ohio for a quick honeymoon since our original plans were cancelled due to COVID. We arrived earlier than we planned, but this did not phase Charlie. Upon arriving, we were taken to our room (we stayed in the Woodland Room). She showed us our bathroom and the deck off our room, talked to us about the TV/DVD player and such, and left us to settle in. We were brought water and ice to have in our room. We took time to walk around the amazing property, so quiet and serene. We enjoyed the donkeys and sitting by the pond. The sunset was beautiful.
We opted to have dinner provided by Charlie. It was so delicious. The roast beef fell apart while trying to eat it. Mashed potatoes and a wonderful green bean casserole completed the meal along with homemade bread. We brought wine to enjoy during the candlelit dinner. Charlie made sure we had wine glasses and a bottle opener. We were too full for dessert after dinner so Charlie brought amazing pieces of homemade strawberry pie to our room later in the evening to enjoy.
In the morning, we enjoyed coffee and delicious pastries. This was also provided by Charlie in our room. We had a wonderful breakfast a little later in the morning and enjoyed delicious fresh fruit with yogurt, quiche, and an amazing French toast bake.
We are already talking about going back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Joe had never been to a bed and breakfast (I have previously but this one was the best) and after this experience I am not sure we will be staying in hotels while traveling again.
We would highly recommend Quail’s Covey to anyone that is looking for an amazing, wonderful, personal experience.

I was doing a search for a nice B&B in NE Ohio for us to spend a night for our 40th anniversary. I looked at many websites and tons of photos, descriptions & reviews and narrowed our search down to Quail’s Covey.
Did we make the right choice? We think we did. Based on the other reviews, I had high expectations and the owners hit the mark. John and Charlotte (Charlie) were very friendly and courteous and have a wonderful home, well designed and decorated to make us feel very comfortable.
And the food… Charlie is an excellent cook! We’ve stayed at several B&B’s but never one that had an option for the evening meal the night we arrived. Since this was a special occasion for us, we decided to splurge and take advantage of that meal (no need to go out once we got settled). And we did not regret this decision either. Since we were the only guests that night, we were able to have a private candlelight dinner tastefully made and served with our host very eager (without being pushy) to make sure our dinner and evening were one to remember. Every part of the meal was delicious – even the tossed salad was great (seriously, the best I’ve ever had so you can imagine how good the other parts of the meal were). And since she filled us up with the meal, we had to postpone desert. Later in the evening, Charlie delivered hot apple dumplings with ice cream up to our room – again amazing.
And, of course, breakfast was another treat. You will not be disappointed. (We didn’t have lunch till mid-afternoon and we really weren’t hungry yet then.)
I just realized I was so excited about the food that I didn’t mention the room. 🙂 We stayed in the Dogwood Suite and recommend you do also. It’s a large, well decorated room with a separate sitting area, private balcony with a lovely view of the lake and surrounding grounds (also can be seen from the bedroom and sitting room), with a large private bathroom with jacuzzi tub and 2-person shower.
I’ve probably rambled more that I should have but there were so many highlights it is hard to condense them (and I did leave many out). In addition to all the wonderful things we experienced at Quail’s Covey, there is plenty to do in the area. The B&B is only a few minutes from Hartville, which has a large variety of things to do and see. Among other places, we stopped at Hartville Hardware – which is much more than just a hardware (check their website) and Hartville Kitchen (which is so good they frequently have lines but the wait time is quite short – and worth the wait).
So our recommendation is for you to start planning your trip to Hartville and stay at Quail’s Covey B&B.

We have been to many bed and breakfasts, but Quail’s Covey is the best! We were treated like royalty, the room was fantastic, and Charlotte’s cooking is amazing. The décor is enjoyable and the ambience is very serene. The property is superbly maintained by John. They make it a point to serve their guests well and to provide such a restful environment. It was an anniversary we will never forget. We have already made reservations for the same time next year.

We stayed over night. It was such a beautiful spot. Charlie is the most gracious hostess. The food was very good. And the room was perfect. We will go back again !!!

Charlie and John are wonderful hosts. Jeff and I stayed at Quail’s Covey for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The Dogwood Suite was spacious and oh so comfortable. The warm, inviting atmosphere of the entire property makes you want to extend your stay!

Now to the amazing food!! Jeff has Celiac Disease and requires a gluten-free diet. Charlie has her spotless kitchen organized so that she keeps her gluten-free items separate from others. No worries about cross contamination, she completely understands how to cook gluten-free!

Each morning began with raspberry scones, coffee and tea in our room an hour before breakfast. We started with fresh fruit bowls on the patio watching the hummingbirds or in the sun room looking out onto lovely gardens. Then comes total amazment! We were treated to yummy ham and spinach quiche, the lightest, fluffiest pancakes, delicious omelets, amazing baked french toast, bacon, toast and assorted beverages and so many more choices!!

Our evening ended with fresh, warm apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream served in our room. Our choice of beverage was herbal tea.

The hospitality and attention to detail are second to none! We were planning another trip to Quail’s Covey before we left! If we could give it 10 stars we would!

My wife and youngest son stayed at Quail’s Covey for 5 nights during a recent trip to Ohio for a Family Reunion. Let me just say, this place is simply THE BEST!!

John and Charlotte (Charlie) make you feel right at home the second you arrive, and you just feel like you are family. We stayed in the Woodland Room and the Queen Anne, and the accommodations were perfect. Everything is magnificently maintained and beautiful. The property itself is actually something to behold, with towering maples, walnuts, and Colorado blue spruce trees lining the landscape. There is so much seating area on the back deck, I lost count after counting over 25 places to sit, between the table, patio furniture, and hosts of other outdoor furniture. They had a beautiful waterfalls with walking bridge, horseshoe pits X 2, and a full-size beach volleyball court, all inside the larger-than-most perfectly manicured Kentucky bluegrass yard. Birds were singing every morning as I drank my coffee outside on the back deck. One morning, a doe had her 3 fawns out in the backyard and they were just romping around like it was nobody’s business. Oh, and did I forget to mention the beautiful serene pond out front that is home to a pair of magnificent swans, not to mention a few ducks. An incredible environment to step into…you can get lost in the beauty.

And the breakfasts were absolutely phenomenal. We had 5 breakfasts there, and not one of them were the same. Charlotte would start you off with a beautiful greeting and smile, and would ask you if you wanted your coffee in the Sun Room or outside. Fresh squeezed juice from 4-5 different fruits was served every morning, as was a fresh bowl of hand-sliced fruit, with a wonderful topping. Two mornings it was spinach, bacon, and ham quiche. And her buttermilk waffles are to die for. The blueberry panckes she served on day 4 was probably my personal favorite. That and the turkey ham she served, along side the fresh-made fried potatoes, fresh toast made with bread from a local bakery, and you are DONE!! Just take a nap until noon.

I HIGHLY recommend Quail’s Covey to ANYONE who is looking for something above the norm. This place was the real deal!! Charlotte and John are simply the BEST!!

Quail’s Covey Bed & Breakfast was an AMAZING experience for my entire family and wedding party. Charlotte (“Charlie\”) was so sweet and inviting. She made some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life. The whole house was warm and inviting and Charlie went above and beyond all expectations. The house was so clean and welcoming. When we arrived, we had to hang my wedding dress, and Charlie allowed us to use a door and she made sure it was all clean before we hung my dress. The room upstairs was PERFECT for getting ready for the wedding. All my girls and my mom and mother-in-law could fit in the one room to do our makeup and etc. Charlie even took a picture of all of us while we prayed, and she was just so so so sweet and welcoming. The groomsman were staying at the wedding venue the night before the wedding, and they couldn’t shower there because the water smelled so bad, and Charlie allowed them to come to Quail’s Covey to shower before the wedding! And she even made them breakfast too! Also, we did not exactly know how many people would be staying after the wedding, but Charlie was so kind and let all 19 people that showed up stay!! She made breakfast for everyone, and even let my husband and I come back the morning after the wedding to eat with our families before we left for Virginia. I would highly recommend Quail’s Covey. It was an amazing experience for all of us. Everyone loved it. I want to go back!!!

Our stay at Quail’s Covey was outstanding! If you are looking for a tranquil and serene getaway, this is the place to be! Charlie was phenomenal–she stayed up late for our check in (it was our wedding night) and the next morning, made the BEST waffles my husband and I have ever had. We highly recommend Quail’s Covey and look forward to visiting in the future!

Wow! My husband and I just had the experience of a lifetime at Quail’s Covey! We have been to several Bed & Breakfasts, but none that come anywhere near that of Quail’s Covey. My dad did some research and found this B&B. He gifted it to us at Christmas and we used it six months later in celebration of our fifteenth wedding anniversary. I will forever be thankful to my dad for finding this particular Bed & Breskfast. We were cheerfully greeted by Charlotte when we arrived. She showed us our Dogwood Suite, which consisted of a beautiful and spacious room with a four post king-size bed, with a sitting area to the side, walk-out deck, and bathroom, with a huge jacuzzi in it. An hour before dinner, Charlotte brought a tray up to us with ice water and fresh brewed iced tea on it. The iced tea even had mint leaves in it and was adorned with a lemon slice. We had the most fabulous candlelight dinner, made by Charlotte. It consisted of a salad, homemade bread with soft butter, cheese crusted chicken, red skinned potatoes and green bean casserole. We enjoyed eating in a nautical themed room off of the kitchen that was cozy and inviting. After dinner, we went upstairs to rest after that fabulous, homemade meal. An hour later, Charlotte brought up apple dumplings and ice cream to us. Not only was this dessert heavenly, but she even won an award for it based on one bite. Everything was brought up on trays and displayed beautifully. Charlotte showed us several movies outside our door that we were permitted to watch, if we do desired. That was a nice touch! We spent the rest of the evening relaxing and enjoying each other’s company. The following morning, an hour before breakfast, Charlotte brought us hot tea, orange juice, and homemade scones. The attention to detail with everything Charlotte does is impeccable. Then, we went outside on the deck and had the breakfast of all breakfasts. It began with us watching the hummingbirds while eating fresh fruit. She even remembered that I have a strawberry allergy when preparing the fruit. After that, we had Baked French Toast. We have never had it before. We loved it so much, that she even gave us her recipe. We also had bacon and omlettes. We had more of her delicious iced tea, too. She sat with us for a few minutes, which was very sweet. She made us feel as though we have known her our whole lives, rather that just a day. She even got out containers and boxed up the rest of our breakfast for us to take home. I’m telling you, speaking from experience, that this Bed & Breskfast is leaps and bounds beyond any B&B, hotel, or resort that we have stayed at, even those that had five stars. Charlotte told us that we can tell her if we want to eat something different next time and she would accommodate us. Ironically, my husband is a picky eater, and he ate everything she made, except the salad. That’s huge and unheard of. The scenery at Quail’s Covey is just as beautiful and breath-taking as the level of service that was provided. We met Charlotte’s husband, John, for just a few minutes, but it was clear to see that they are both very sweet, kind, and loving people. We will definitely be back to Quail’s Covey. I’d like to get a night for my dad, as I would never have had this experience, but for him. Stay at Quail’s Covey! It’s worth it! You’ll leave being forever changed by the amazing couple that built and run this Bed & Breakfast. This experience is one I’ll never forget, and words won’t do it justice.

Wow….where to begin. There are very few people you meet in this lifetime that touch your heart in a very special way. The atmosphere is that of joy, happiness, kindness, and peace. Charlie is one of the most genuine, loving, and caring people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. You meet her and immediately feel like you’ve known her your whole life. She made our anniversary so special! I was in tears when we left, and I tear up now as I’m writing this. She truly has a special gift of hospitality. We felt very much at home during our stay. To top that off, her home cooking is hands down the BEST we have ever had! We left with full hearts and bellies! The only regret? We didn’t book more than just ONE night! We absolutely will be back again! I told my husband I would rather spend just one night here, than 5 days at the beach…and I can assure you I LOVE the beach. So thank you thank you thank you, for an experience we will NEVER forget. Thank you for your friendship and love, and for the hospitality you went above and beyond to show us. Our hearts have been forever touched by you and your beautiful home! PS…we didn’t get a chance to meet John (he was hard at work mowing the grounds making them look beautiful!) but we look forward to meeting him next time! 🙂

In late February, we were looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. My wife and my self just needed some time together by ourselves to slow our life down a little. We were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very nicely decorated and adds a nice warm charm to the atmosphere. Charlie and John are the most gracious and caring host that anyone could have. I asked my wife, why have we not stayed in any bed and breakfast before? The breakfast and dessert are fabulous. There are no five star restaurants that can better the fare. Charlie is simply a great chef. Even in late winter the scenery was beautiful and the drive down the lane serene. I awoke early in the morning at sunrise to watch the mallard duck taking off from the pond. At dust, one can see the same mallard returning for the night. It is thrilling to watch the ducks drop their wings on a sharp decent only to flare at the last minute to settle to the pond. I enjoyed seeing the wildlife and was conversing with Charlie about the wildlife in the area. During the conversation, Charlie mention that there are occasionally coyotes around. Well the very next morning while eating breakfast and watching the woods out back, my wife and myself saw a coyote skirting the top of the ridge. The location is perfect. It is easy to get to and it is quiet. It is close enough to both Canton and Arkon to easily drive to entertainment or activity around. This is simply an amazing and comfortable place to stay, guaranteed we will be back. Charlie and John thank you very very much. We hope to see you in the future.

We had a fantastic weekend at Quail’s Covey. “Charlie” treated us like royalty. She is an amazing cook. She also did some arranging for visits at local restaurants.

We had four families there and everyone had a great time.

I highly recommend this spotless beautiful place.

We had a wonderful stay at Quails Covey in Aug 2015. Charlie and John were wonderful hosts and Charlie’s cooking was amazing. Such a wonderful touch to have coffee, tea and delicious scones delivered to our door an hour before our breakfast. The room was very comfortable and loved the private balcony. The grounds were beautiful and loved being able to dine al fresco on the deck. We have stayed in many B&B, but this was by far our favorite. Looking forward to staying there again!

What a relaxing, enjoyable experience! After a busy day on the hunt for antiques all around the Canton/Hartsville area, my husband and I were delighted with the beautiful and restful accommodations that awaited us at Quail’s Covey. The breakfast was excellent. Charlie’s hospitality was very warm and welcoming. We will most definitely be back!

What a great place! My co worker and I have booked rooms here for the last two years to attend a training in Hartville. Charlie’s apple dumplings are to die for, and the breakfast she prepares is unequaled! The home she and John built is perfect for time away from a busy schedule, with a calming pond, wildlife, and balconies on which you can sit and enjoy the scenery. I am now working on getting my husband to schedule a night away for both of us so he, too, can appreciate the beauty of this setting and the extremely welcoming and accommodating Charlie & John!

Our recent visit to Quail’s Covey was all that was described in these reviews and more! I too have traveled all over the US and have stayed in some pretty nice hotels, inns, suites, lodges, bed and breakfasts, and wow…this one was perfect for our group of ladies who get together once a year on MLK weekend for a mystery adventure trip. We rode the tobbogan shoots at Cleveland Metroparks in Strongsville, ate lunch at Miss Molly’s Tea Room in Medina and night hiked in the adjoining Quail Hollow Park.
We were greeted with a smiles from our host and hostess as well as the wafting smells of fresh scones. We had the place to ourselves, so we had full reign over the great room, sunroom, full kitchen, gameroom with pool table and nice places to cozy up by the fire and chat. Between evening activities, we were served homemade apple dumplings and vanilla ice cream….YUMMY!
Charlie, our hostess, was welcoming, gracious and had a great sense of how to make you feel a part of the family without intruding upon what you were doing. Her sense of humor and the thoughtful little things were what made our stay there special. By the time we left, we felt she was a part of us too! She really knows how to take care of you!
There was room for all 12 of us with a little to spare. The next morning we were invited to enjoy coffee, tea, scones, and tea bread while doing devotions in the sunroom as everyone awoke. Then at just the right time, we were welcomed to breakfast. The dining room table had room for all to enjoy each others company as it was found in full dress with fine china, decorations, and bowls of fruit with lemon yogurt. We were served fresh squeezed juice, quiche and French toast casserole, homemade jam and toast. Each of us enjoyed our time with the Schabachs so much that we asked our hostess to show us a game, which we played, tell us about a new scientific discovery about compatibility, which she had shared with the planner of our trip earlier, and at the end of our stay, we joined together for songs.
God is so good. I thank God for the many gifts that Charlie and John have been given, including their gift of hospitality. Sharing God’s gifts with others makes them a blessing 2 ways.
    Thanks for the Blessing!

What a wonderful retreat! Even though it was bitter cold outside, inside was warm, friendly and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Dogwood Suite is second to none. I wish we could tell you what our favorite thing was, but that’s impossible since we enjoyed everything from the delicious food and comfy room to the friendly, warm hosts! I felt like queen for a day! Thank you Charlotte and John!

I was looking for a simple, local getaway for holiday indulgence and Quail’s Covey and Charlie and John well surpassed my hopes and expectations. It was a completely luxurious and lovely experience starting with Charlie’s graciousness and welcoming approach. She and John make you feel like part of the family and that they are very happy to have you stay with them.

The room and entire home is beautiful and evokes homey comfort as soon as you enter, and the little luxuries in every area makes you feel incredibly well pampered. Everything was up to date, immaculately clean, lushly comfortable and very well maintained.

The thoughtfulness of Charlie’s service is well above and beyond, and the “welcome to our home” dessert and breakfast she prepares is so delicious that you can’t help but to slow down and savor every bite. Even looking out at the fields, woods and lake is immediately relaxing.

I have every intention of visiting Quail’s Covey again soon, and next time I will make sure to have more time available so there will be ample time to immerse in relaxation in the sun room, the plush bed, enjoyment of the amazing food and wonderfully charming conversation with Charlie and John.

We were coming to town for Gramma B’s 97th birthday party and my brother recommended we stay at Quail’s Covey, which is a short distance away from the party.

We had never stayed at a B&B before and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. First and foremost was the hospitality. Charlie and John really make you feel at home. They have a beautiful place, with a spacious living area and a terrific sun room. The bed/bath rooms are very clean and Charlie adds special touches, like candies on the night stand and a bow around your bath towels.

In the morning, coffee is brewed and breakfast is fresh. Charlie is a dynamite cook! We had a nice chat, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I am grateful for the entire experience and look forward to going back to Quail’s Covey!

We had never stayed at at a B&B before. Quails Covey is beautiful, quiet, relaxing, wonderful apple dumplings and a delicious breakfast. God has truly given Charlie and John the gift of Hospitality. This gift is reflected in every detail. Amazing! We both have stressful vocations and it was so nice just to stop and relax. Thank you!

We were looking for a get-away for our 52nd wedding anniversary. Who knew we’d fall into the lap of luxury?

Every once in awhile in life, we are privileged to meet a person who is extraordinarily gifted at what they do, and “Charlie,” the hostess at Quail’s Covey is just such a person. Charlie has the uncanny ability to anticipate her guests every need, all the while, acting as if it is just no trouble at all to serve you.

We loved being able to walk anywhere on the large property, sitting by the pond watching the swans protect their young and territory, listening to the frogs, observing the hummingbirds, and the donkeys. The well-tended gardens were at their peak, accented by creative waterfalls.

Artistic touches abound in this spacious and beautiful home, built by Charlie’s multi-talented husband, John. The food was five-star delicious and the presentation was lovely.

If Charlie and John ever weary of the daily running of a B & B, they could teach seminars on running a first-class B & B. Quail’s Covey is the gold standard!

    Charlie and John-
Once again our visit to Quail’s Covey was memorable and refreshing! We both needed a peaceful place to continue our 46th Anniversary celebration and as always your B&B did the trick!!! Thank you for your spacious and comfortable room and the wonderful breakfast and; of course, the rhubarb dessert, (also the take home portion), as well as the apple dumpling which was delicious as always. We both enjoy our conversations and the chance to just look out over the lake and count the babies! Bob and Carol Meador.

    Shalom, Charlie, John and Kristen:
Thank you for a very relaxing 27th anniversary celebration. From the entrance way leading to your beautiful bed and breakfast to the unbelievable service provided we felt that we could not have found any better respite in the world. As you know we travel quite a bit in the country and out and we have never been so personally satisfied with an establishment. The warmth display, the quality of workmanship put into the building of the bed and breakfast, the delicious food, Jack, Up the Hill, Flop, George, Gracie, Stephanie, Peter, Kristen and of course the host and hostess. John you demonstrate how couples support one another in a marriage. Charlie you demonstrate how the vision of a person’s heart can materialize into something extraordinary. Most importantly, you both are humble enough to recognize that it is God who grants the desires of our heart when we seek to glorify him in what we endeavor to do. Shalom and May Hashem continue to open up the sluices of heaven and pour you out so many blessings that you won’t be able to receive them all. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast. My husband and I wanted to get away for a week-end and just relax. Being Valentines Day, we planned to go to a Sweethart Dinner at Hartville Kitchen in Hartville, OH. Wanting to find a Bed and Breakfast close by, I searched the internet and found Quails Covey. This was the first time I had ever stayed at a bed and breakfast. Our visit was wonderful. John and Charlotte (Charlie) Schlabach are the most wonderful people you ever want to meet. Their home could not have been more welcoming. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Home cooked meals and wonderful conversation, what more could you ask for. Breakfast was served in the sun room with soft music playing and sounds of birds chirping in the background. The table was set in beautiful china in front of a picture window that looked out over the beautiful woods located in the back of the house. While we were there, the snow was gently falling as we ate our breakfast. It was truly relaxing to sit there and sip on coffee while eating and watching the snow fall. As many of others have said, they do make you feel like family and you don’t want to leave. Already looking forward to our return visit in the spring and again in the fall. Words cannot express the great time we had. Thank you for your hospitality.

We can’t express our thoughts any better than the Geisingers did above; so all we can say is a big “DITTO” to everything they wrote….

“Sweet Charlotte was loved by John”….and their place definitely SHOWS that love as they share it with anyone lucky enough to spend some quality time in their beautiful HOME….truly a SPA for body, mind, and soul. “Quail’s Covey”: just think of….’Lovey Dovey’!

Our small ladies bible study group wanted to plan a ladies overnight. One that would give us both comfort and a place to “gab”. We found all that and much more at Quail’s Covey! Everyone was impressed with Charlie’s hospitality and food preparation. She always had the coffee, tea, and water there for us. The selection of teas for us tea drinkers was superb! The great room offered us a place for times of discussion while the large dining table gave us a place to just sit and “gab” with one another. Everyone appreciated the comfort and spaciousness of each of the bedrooms. John even led us in a time of praise and worship in song. Then played a few songs on his accordian….what a treat! The peacefulness of this place was what each of us needed. It was a time of reflection and rest. Even though the temps. outside were in the single digits the warm and comfortable surroundings at Quail’s Covey made us feel down right cozy! When we woke in the morning several inches of snow covered our cars but John and his grandsons swept them all clean, and they were clean for us when we left. Now, that’s going the extra mile!! The ladies are already talking about our next stay at Quail’s Covey. See you in the fall!
Thank you Charlotte & John for such a wonderful experience at your beautiful B&B

It isn’t often that you happen upon someone who seems to be doing exactly what their life has called them to do…but then it isn’t often that you meet someone like Charlotte and John. And it certainly is rare to happen upon a bit of heaven right on earth. What can I add to what others have already said? If you have even a hint of desire to spend one or more nights truly communing with nature, and love, and light..then put Quail’s Covey on your bucket list. You will go home feeling energized, grateful, a bit melancholy that all of life is not like this, and inspired to bring the committment and joy and service to your life choices that the Schlabachs bring to theirs. Thank you for an amazing 24 hours..we will be back soon!

We needed some quiet time for our anniversary after our son moved back home looking for a job and has the grandbaby every day. Quail’s Covey was exactly what we needed. We walked on the grounds along the lake, sat beside the waterfall, and took a walk on the walking trail for Quail Hollow Park that runs along the property. We visited with the gentle donkeys and just relaxed. Charlie served us a candlelight dinner that evening that was delicious and followed it with apple dumplings with ice cream in our room. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and slept soundly that evening with soft noises of nature outside our window. The breakfast was amazing from french toast casserole and yogurt with fruit to the omelet with bacon. Charlie and John couldn’t be better hosts. It takes special people to open their home to strangers and make them feel so special. And it was exactly what we needed! It exceeded everything we could hav expected. Thank you both for the wonderful ministry you have! We will be back!!!

We went on 10-25-2012 to celebrate our honeymoon, it was amazing we plan on returning for out anniversary. The dinner was so worth the price I even took home the recipe and started making it for our family gatherings. The breakfast is so good we went back to our room to rest a little before doing any shopping. the area is beautiful, so close to the winery and flea market. I have been telling everyone that wants to get away for the weekend to come here. We can’t wait to come back. French toast casserole..mmmmmm. Thanks Charlie and John.

To start off, I was participating in a local golf tournament and some good friends of ours put us up for three days at Quail’s Covey. Now we haven’t had much experience with B&B’s but we are very familiar with comfort, hospitality and kindness. From the very start of our stay in June it was obvious that we would experience all three at Quail’s Covey. Charlotte (Charlie) and John made it clear from the start that it was all about us. We stayed in the Dogwood Suite, which had everything that we would need. Everything in the rooms was in place, had plenty of conversational pieces and was clean. Every morning Charlie would bring up scones and juice an hour before breakfast and leave it outside the door. She would then ring a small bell outside the door to gently inform us of her arrival. We immediately flashed to the show ‘Downton Abbey’ were service is the main focus. If you’re a breakfast eater, you must try the baked French toast . . . Well done Charlie! The outside of the home is just as nice and the surrounding sounds of nature are serene. At night you can hear the tree frogs. During the day the hummingbirds are fun to watch on the feeders and the swans and ducks in the pond are beautiful. On another morning as I was walking in front of the house I noticed a fawn lying behind one of many lovely shrubs. Seeing the lovely animal up close was another unexpected pleasure at Quail’s Covey. Thank you again for making us feel comfortable and special during our stay. We have since been telling all of our friends and will not hesitate to come back again.

We went there for our anniversary and unfortunately, we could only stay one night. We have never been served like that before! From the moment we got there until we left we waited on hand and foot. We got warm apple dumplings with ice cream and coffee on Friday evening. Saturday morning we got coffee, fresh juice, and scones and that was BEFORE breakfast! The coffee was brought up to our room an hour before breakfast and when we went to the sunroom for breakfast we had a delicious meal there. Charlie ministered the love and peace of Jesus Christ to us and we can hardly wait to go back next year!

In the telling of the story of the birth of Jesus, the innkeeper is sometimes incorrectly portrayed as a villain. The person who stuck them in the stable. In actuality, Mary and Joseph arrive in crisis, no reservation, at the worst time of the year because of the census. The innkeeper had no star to guide them like the wise men did. No angel sang to them about the child telling them to take special care of this guest. The innkeeper just helped, using their God-given skills of hospitality to care for weary travelers. Charlotte, we cannot express how grateful we are that you took in two mourners, without reservation, at the busiest time of the year. You have nurtured us inside and out. The fact that we had such better accommodations than Jesus just adds to the wonder of all you have provided to us. Thank you!

We had such a wonderful time at Quail’s Covey. Charlotte and John were most hospitable even the day after Christmas during a terrible snow storm. They were very thoughtful to give us the option to reschedule due to the blizzard conditions but we decided to come anyway. Their Bed and Breakfast is beautiful from the Lobby and Sun Room to each of the guest rooms. The entire house is filled with acute attention to detail. They truly made us feel at home and made our experience custom to our preferences. The food was fantastic and there was so much of it. We highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast and cannot wait to visit again.

We came for 2 nights on our honeymoon in October the trees were beautiful, weather was great. Charlie is an amazing cook. Each time we had breakfast we were so full we had to rest for awhile before going anywhere. We woke up early enough to have coffee on the balcony then breakfast downstairs. we had the candle light dinner: swiss steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a lovely apple dumpling for dessert. We stayed in the dogwood Suite, with Jacuzzi tub with private deck. the room is amazing. the view is lovely. we played a few games like pool in the basement, horseshoes outside, and board games on the table outside on the deck.
The inn is not too far from the corn maize valley and Hartville flea market so it gave us plenty of time to go see everything.
This is a wonderful place to kick back and relax. we will be coming back for sure.

Wow! We were delighted with our stay. We’ve only been to a couple of bed and breakfasts in our seven years, so we don’t have a lot to compare, but we have absolutely no complaints except that our stay wasn’t long enough!!!
We stayed in the Dogwood suite and loved it! Charlie welcomed us in, treated us to some of her home-made pepper jelly and cream cheese with crackers and some fresh iced tea. This may sound small to you, but I have a gluten allergy, and the crackers she had for me tasted like a real cracker!!!
We stepped out for dinner, but next year will most likely ask her for dinner-she is an excellent cook!!!
When we came back, we were able to meet John and enjoyed a quick visit with the both of them before disappearing back up in our suite. The room is huge, clean, fresh and comfortable. The Jacuzzi is lovely and large with a skylight right above-if it wasn’t cloudy out, we could have relaxed under the stars.
Hot, delicious apple dumplings and ice cream (one regular and one gluten free for me) waited outside our door along with a coffee and tea.
Fresh squeezed juice, and fresh out of the oven scones (again, one regular and one gluten free) came as incentive to wake up and get out of such a comfy bed. We enjoyed this and some more tea and coffee while we watched the swans on the pond, the deer, and the covey of quail out on the front lawn. Breakfast was a continuation of scrumptious and hugely generous servings and God’s beauty-we ate outside watching the hummingbirds take their breakfast, the birds out towards the State Park.
The privacy and upkeep of Quail’s Covey is like a 5 star hotel. The hospitality and friendliness of John and Charlie makes you feel at ease, as if you were home-but living the life of luxury!!!
    Can’t wait to return!

We stayed at Quails Covey from 9/11/12 to 9/13/12. John and Charlotte Schlabach
are simply two of the kindest, warmest people we have ever met. QC was voted
Best B&B in Stark County for 2011, and deservedly so.

We share the opinion of so many others — John and “Charlie” welcome you like family, and treat you like royalty. It is worth the trip, just to enjoy Charlies
scrumptious homemade breakfast, and apple dumpling in the evening. We highly
recommend the Dogwood Suite, with Jacuzzi tub and private deck. In the morning, if
you’re up about 30 minutes before the official sunrise time, sit on the deck and observe the most beautiful sunrise coming up over the horizon.
As we enjoyed breakfast in the Sunroom, we watched the deer play in the yard.
One morning, a hummingbird came to visit.

If you are looking for simple peace and tranquility, if you need a place to reconnect,
to sit and just (in the words of John Denver) talk to God and listen to the casual reply — two words: Quails Covey. Guaranteed.

We had to comment and let others know how wonderful our stay was and John and Charlotte Schlabach were wonderful hosts! After visiting the Covey last year, my husband and I decided to hold my parent’s 50th Anniversary Wedding on the grounds of the Covey. It was the perfect location and the staff at the Covey set up large tents and took care of all the catering and even the music! John and Charlotte themselves sang a duet that was just beautiful prior to the ceremony. Our guests (45) arrived and had ample parking and were seated under tents where they had large fans to keep everyone cool. There were lovely flowers in the garden and even a fountain running down a hill. The dinner was incredible – my parents requested ribs and chicken (I know that sounds odd…but there is a reason) and everyone raved about how tender and flavorful the meal was. If anyone is interested in having a wedding and would like a recommendation or more information – please contact us (we give permission to John and Charlotte to provide our contact info) we would be happy to tell you about our experience.

beautiful facility. We thank you for all of the beauty both inside and
outside, you are fantastic people and are Masters at what you do.

A hidden gem tucked away among the surviving farms and expanding suburban developments in northeastern Ohio, Quail’s Covey is well worth seeking and is so much more difficult to leave (or to erase from happy memories) than it is to find. The physical facilities are topmost quality–designed as a home for a large family and later transformed into a B&B. The setting enables casual walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and other exercise enthusiasts to balance their intake of extraordinarily delicious and healthful foods with calorie-burning since it adjoins a very large natural reserve that has extensive trails. The inn-keepers are far more like the inspiring grandparents you believe you should have had than hoteliers. Although we would much prefer to keep this wonderful place a secret, the truth ought to come out. It is without a doubt the best place for retreat, renewal, or to serve as a base-camp for local exploring that you could imagine. The food is superb, the folks friendly but respectful of your privacy, the beds super clean and firmly comfortable, and the setting serenely quiet. In visits to four continents, we have never found any place better than this one. It tops any top-ten list we can imagine! (Incidentally, we stayed here while we were on our wedding trip or honeymoon, and we will cherish the splendid memories during the years that remain to us.)

We stayed there this past weekend for our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay. I also bought some of your habanero jelly and now I have friends who wants to know if you would ship it to the Cleveland area?

    Thank you again.

If I could move in, I would!! My boyfriend actually found this amazing bed and breakfast for a nice weekend getaway! We stayed for 2 nights and within the first 5 minutes I felt at home! This beautiful house and grounds are the perfect getaway to relax, slow down and have fun!! Hartville is an amazing little town and Charlie and John fit right in!! On our first night we dropped off our stuff and headed to town for dinner, when we returned, Charlie had fresh, warm apple dumpling with ice cream waiting! When we got up in the morning, Charlie made us an amazing breakfast with fresh squeezed juice (and coffee and scones delivered to your door before!!) omelets, fruit and a french toast casserole!! The rest of the trip was great too, but being at the house was the best! From the Jacuzzi tub, to the balcony off of our room and the great time we spent talking with Charlie in the sun room, this weekend was PERFECT!!! This was the perfect weekend getaway that I NEEDED to recharge and relax. We will absolutely go back for another weekend in the fall!

Thank you Charlie and John for an un-forgettable weekend!!!

To all who read this….FIVE STARS OUT OF FIVE STARS! If you want a truely PERFECT night/weekend away I HIGHLY RECOMMEND QUAILS COVEY! Charlie is one of the best hostesses…food was excellent, perfect amount of conversation, and the best personality for a Bed & Breakfast. But don’t be fooled by Bed & Breakfast, my wife and I had a wonderful dinner that Charlie set up in our room. Finally a dinner we didn’t have to rush through, nice and hot, and the dessert of home made apple dumplngs and icecream…..YUM. My wife and I are still talking about our time at Quails Covey a week later. It is a memory we will always have and definitely want to relive!!

Gentleman, if you want to swoop your wife off her feet, this is the place to do it. My wife loves to walk/hike and Quails Covey is directly behind the state park. We walked out the back door and enjoyed a wonderful 1-1/2 hour walk.

Charlie and John, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Our visit to Quail’s Covey was like a visit with old friends or family. We’ve never stayed anyplace where the balance of attentiveness and privacy were achieved so perfectly. John and Charlie are not only great hosts, but wonderful, warm and friendly people. They make Quail’s Covey the exquisite retreat setting that it is. Yes, of course, our room was very nice and the surroundings are great as well. My wife and I walked the trails through Quail Hollow State Park, which adjoin John and Charlie’s property, and visited some of the many things to do in the area. But our greatest joy came from the conversations we shared with John and Charlie and the delicious meals and desserts that Charlie provided. It was an outstanding experience that we hope to have opportunity to enjoy again.

Charlie and John. Thank you for the best B and B stay we have ever had! We have visited a number of B&B’s and your’s is by far the best. We throughly enjoyed the time we were there and hated to leave and come back to Pittsburgh. The next time, (which will be ASAP), we will stay much longer and once again take in the views and accomodations and smells of the fantastic foods that we enjoyed and relaxed to during our visit. You basically saved what was going to be a disaster week due to our original plans to vacation in VA being cancelled due to “Irene”!!! We were destressd, relaxed and treated like “family” with you folks. God Bless you both and we can’t wait to come back!!! We hope we have found two new friends for life?

    Dear John and Charlotte,
Tyler and I had the most relaxing stay this past weekend. That was the best thing we could’ve done before he left for the Army and I am so thankful for all you two did for us. I was wondering if I could get the recipe for your baked french toast because I have been looking all over the internet for it and the pictures do not look like what we received. Tyler loved that so much and I just wanted to welcome him home with it so if there is any direction you could give me that would be so wonderful. I just want to thank you again though because that trip meant the world to both of us and we will never forget it. God Bless You!

    Hi Charlotte,

My dad and I stayed with you in October of 2009 and had a wonderful time. I don’t know if you remember, but RuthAnn is my cousin, who lives just down the way from you.

Anyway, my dad and I are returning in July for his brothers 75th wedding anniversary and we would love to stay with you again. Is the big room available around July 20th through July 27th. My dad and I could share that again.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

I planned a one evening get-a-way for my husband Dale. He has been my caregiver since my stroke and other complications. in 2008. Our lives changed dramatically for all of us. I wanted to get away just us for a whole evening of relaxation. No cooking, etc. Pulling into the driveway and seeing the bed and breakfast I knew it was a good decision to go. We were greeted by the owner’s Charlie and John. They Immediately made us feel at home. Charlie set up a private dinner for us (Swiss steak, mashed potato and green been casserole, it was a delicious dinner)a massage and relaxation time in the jacuzzi tub. Dessert was apple dumplings and vanilla ice cream. Quiet night. Breakfast the next morning Charlie offered made to order omlettes, french toast bake, fruit bowl with yougurt, and bacon she also provided coffee, tea, fresh squeezed juice which I believe was pineapple and orange juice.. we ate in the Sunroom along with some delightful conversation with Charlie before she headed off to church. . They love what they do and I believe they were meant to run a B and B, Charlie is a terific cook! We stayed in the Dogwood Suite, which has a big picture window with a window seat. Chase lounge chair is set in a small seperate area off of the bedroom. The private bath has a walk in shower and a jacuzzi bath. The toilet is in a seperate room off of the bathroom itself. We woke to the sun rising over the trees and got to see swans swimming in the pond and the birds feeding from the homemade bird feeders. This place is located on a country road and it makes you think you are somewhere other than Ohio. This would be a great place for one to three couples to just get away. Dale did guess before arriving where we were staying a B and B because as he said there was nothing else out there. You will not be dissappointed if you choose to stay. I did not look at the other two rooms but Dogwood was spectacular.. Thank you Charlie for everything. I hope to be back

We got to sleep right in the SAME HOUSE as our wonderful hosts! Sorry, I am new to bed and breakfast experiences.

The experience is almost as far as the east is from the west… from being a mere business transaction.

We live about one hour from Quail’s Covey and the wonderful hosts— now our dear friends, Charley and John, went the second mile to make our experience enjoyable, delightful and memorable.

The experience was all about hospitality. (Hospitality must one of the nicest and warmest words in the English tongue.) They were personable. Personal. Warm. Delightful. Hardworking. Wow. What can we say.

My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at the wonderful Quail’s Covey in July 2010. My wife enjoys fishing and fish we did! John and Charley brought us fishing lines and life jackets and we each caught five fish. John and Charley graciously offered to shoot our pictures … waiting until they bite. It was a blast.

If anyone is teetering between Quail’s Covey or another place… I tell you one thing: If you’re looking for a place in the Canton or Hartville area, this place is hands down… one of the finest… if not THE finest.

Charley knows the value of the little extras that make the BIG difference. She is flat out cool, and fun, and a riot!

From little personal pieces of chocolate… to fresh cut flowers in our room with a personal note… to willingly arranging a one-hour couples massage for us.

    It was a grand experience.

WOW! That’s the only word that describes our stay at Quail’s Covey. From the warm greeting when we arrived to the personal and never-ending attention we received during our stay, this is an amazing bed and breakfast in Hartville, Ohio! There couldn’t have been a better place to celebrate our father’s 70th birthday with his four boys.

All the details are top-notch: clean, roomy, responsive service by Charlie, attention to detail in the design of the rooms, the balconies off two of the rooms are a nice place to chat at night, the bathrooms are very nice (and clean!), the landscape gorgeous, the general areas are comfortable and relaxing, and most importantly, Charlie and John are amazing hosts. Everything really was great.

On top of this, we were able to fish their pond and even in the midst of a 90-degree weekend, Charlie queued the fish and we caught over 20 fish (a mix of bass and sunfish). Our largest was over a pound and half.

The food is to die for — fresh, warm apple dumplings — always-available coffee, water, soda/pop — delicious breakfasts (stuffed french toast, made-to-order omelettes, etc.) — and how wonderful it was to awake each morning to the smell of coffee and the food cooking. Ummmm:)

Hartville is a great area too. Tons of stuff to do in Hartville and surrounding areas are all within 10-15 minute drive (Canton, Akron, Green, etc.).

There’s so much more. You really won’t be disappointed. If you know anything about B&B’s, this one just on the north side of Hartville is surely one of the best. The only minor difficulty is if you try to arrive on the first night when it’s already dark outside. The sign is a little hard to see and could use a spotlight on it. But with GPS in cars now, most people won’t find that a challenge.

Thank you, Charlie and John! Truly amazing!

My boyfriend surprised me on Valentines day this year with such a special surprise I will never forget. He researched for days from his home in Indiana and finally settled on Quail’s Covey, and it couldn’t have been more perfect if I had planned it myself.
Charlie was simply fantastic and made our holiday all the more special. I would bring her home with me if I could. Her charming demeanor and fantastic cooking ( if only I could find the words to describe it) only added to an amazing experience.
I can only feel blessed that I have someone who loves me enough to take me to this beautiful house with these beautiful people, and I can also only say I feel incredibly lucky to be so close.
We will definitely be making a return trip sometime in the near future, and I highly suggest that anyone considering a B&B decide on this amazing place.

John and Charlie, you are two amazing individuals, and I hope to see you both sooner rather than later. =)

When we arrived that saturday night in may we couldn’t know we should have such a special experience. Coming from Holland, that very small country at the seaside in Europe we are always impressed by Canada and America. Everything is so different, especially that everything is so big. Not only the food and the land, but also the hearts of most of the people we have met!
We were greeted so enthusiastically by John and Charlie. There were lots of people in the house because of a church retreat, and one hour after our arrival we were eating and speaking with them as if we were a member of that church ourselves! Although we were tired from our trip, we had a very inspiring evening.
After that we slept in a very nice and quiet room and woke up the next sunday morning with very nice piano music. I liked that.
That whole day we were treated as very special persons and experienced such great hospitality that we became shy…….who are we to deserve that! We met God in the persons who took so good care for us that weekend and that is why our stay was so special.

John and Charlie, you are still in our hearts and we are proud that we have been your first European visitors! God bless you and your family.

We just spent 4 days with “Charlie” and John in the beautiful B & B. What a wonderful experience. Never were there two more hospitable persons. They just make you so welcome and the obvious love in the home is just so gratifying. Like a little bit of heaven on earth. The entire experience was overwhelming. Such outstanding breakfasts made from scratch. Clean and comfortable room and bath.
What a location, in the midst of lush farmland and adjacent to a forest. Even the deer are friendly.(I’m kidding). Don’t pass this one up. In fact I’d drive many miles to stay there again. Compassionate care in classy country Covey. What are you waiting for?

Absolutely the best! I have stayed at dozens of bed and breakfasts from Ogunquit, Maine to Denver, Colorado to Vancouver, British Columbia. None can compare with Quails Covey. From the luxuriousness of the Dogwood Suite to the incomparable attention to detail by Charlotte and John, Quails Covey is in a league of its own.

The Dogwood Suite can be seen in the website pictures, of course. But it must be stayed in to be appreciated. It lacks nothing in so far as aesthetics and creature comforts. Windows from the ceiling almost to the floor flood the suite with light and glorious views of the back yard, leading back into the the beautiful woods filled with walking paths. It is a bird watcher’s paradise, and yes, binoculars hang from the window ledge!

The bedroom is enormous and yet so inviting – wonderful reading chair and window seat. I slept with the windows open and woke hearing the birds and seeing the sunrise. I even got to enjoy a thunder storm! The king-sized bed is so comfortable, enhanced by the highest quality sheets. A separate sitting room boasts a comfortable chaise lounge and a large closet. When I wasn’t working on my computer in the chair in the bedroom I was esconsed in the chaise lounge reading.

The bathroom is enormous, with a large jacuzzi tub that relaxed my sore muscles to a separate delightful shower with two shower heads. The two sink washing area afforded excellent counter space. Each day Charlotte had the fresh towels and wash cloth wrapped in a ribbon on a step into the jacuzzi.

Every morning Charlotte had a tray outside the room with fresh squeezed juice , a pot of tea, (or coffee) a fresh carafe of water, and a muffin waiting outside the door. In the evenings, you find another carafe of water with a bucket of ice waiting for you. Breakfast in the sunroom was pure delight. Omelets, french toast casserole, and delicious items ranging form cereal to fruit muffins rounded out the breakfast for you.

Charlotte and John were supurb hosts, anticipating your every your every need. I cannot wait to return.

I had to go to Hartville on a business trip and didn’t want to stay in a motel, so I got online and was fortunate enough to find John and Charlie. Staying at Quail’s Covey and spending time them was the highlight of my trip. They are truly special people and Quail’s Covey is a special place. It was “meant to be” for me to stay with them as God knew I needed them in my life. They are a living example of how God wants us to live our lives and share what we have with others. If I have to travel back to Hartville, I hope I am fortunate enough to stay with them again.

We stayed in the Dogwood Suite on February 17th and it was amazing. Charlotte (Charlie) & John welcomed us like family. The “incredible” aroma of the apple dumpling baking when we arrived just made it that much more inviting. Our room was beautiful and cozy. The little touches…the flowers, the candy…even the ribbons wrapped around the towels gave us the feeling that the room was prepared just for us. The bed was heavenly. And thanx for having “Fireproof” handy for us to watch. What an awe-inspiring movie. EVERYONE who is in a relationship should see this movie. The juice and scones outside our room in the morning was another special touch. Charlie cooks an awesome breakfast, too…the french toast casserole is to die for. We just cannot say enough about our experience at Quail’s Covey and Charlie & John. We have told so many people about this wonderful place and we will be back for a visit. When you meet these beautiful people, you will think that you have known them forever. God Bless You Both.

My fiance Sarah and I had a delightful stay back in October. The fall colors were just prime and we really took advantage of the wooded trails located right on the property. We loved the dogwood suite and all it had to offer in luxury and relaxation. We just had a splendid stay and we would recommend a relaxing weekend there to any couples in love who would like to escape for a romantic and scenic weekend.

I just heard that you were doing this, Charlie, and was so excited for you! It is absolutely no surprise to me that you would do this, and get such rave reviews for doing so. I am truly honored to say that I was a guest of yours several times – can you believe it was nearly 10 years ago?! Probably before the bed and breakfast idea was born! I can attest to the wonderful hospitality and cooking. I love the memories I have of you, and John, and I am so happy for you both. Congratulations on your success, and best of luck in the future! I have a bible study group of about 8 and I told them about your place for a tea. We were wondering what days and times you would have available for a tea, this would be the week of June 8th, 2009.

The only day that would not work for us would be June llth.

We had our Christmas Party at Quail’s Covey this past December and it was just great. Char and John were the perfect hosts, the food was unbelievably good, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We will continue to book our work Christmas parties with them yearly. It is just the perfect place to go for a bed and breakfast (the rooms are BEAUTIFUL), a group party or even a simple luncheon. You won’t regret calling today to make reservations.

Our small group held a surprise post-Christmas luncheon at Quail’s Covey. Charlie greeted us at the door, and made us feel so welcome. We met her family there, and they were warm and pleasant too. Charlie seemed to know our every need before we did, and she made it seem so easy to create and serve the most delicious and beautiful foods. One of our members quipped, “May we return every Friday?” We had a wonderful time in that beautiful, loving home, and would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone. At our request, Charlie even started our meal with a beautiful grace. God Bless these wonderful folks!

I wanted to hurry home so I could leave a review for Charlie and John at Quails Covey Bed and Breakfast. December 27th is a very special day for my fiancé and I and we wanted to spend it in a very special place together. Since we are currently living several hundreds of miles from each other we find ourselves spending a lot of time on airplanes and in hotel rooms. We knew we wanted to get away but a hotel was just not ideal for our SPECIAL DAY together. Through several hours of internet research we found Quail’s Covey.

Let me tell you…their web site sells this place short on every level!! I called to make our reservation and was pleasantly surprised to hear a cheery welcoming voice on the other end. Charlie was willing to not only hear a cliff notes version of our story but was willing to cater to our special day.

Upon our arrival, we found the house to be very warm and charming in every aspect! Charlie and her husband John welcomed us into their home like family. As Charlie showed us around and then up to our room we noticed the attention to detail this couple has taken. Our room was GORGEOUS! The Dogwood Suite is absolutely perfect for a romantic get away!!! The over sized Jacuzzi tub was so soothing. The bed was very plush and inviting. Our suite was well appointed to meet our every need.

Charlie made us a dinner to die for! (we recommend the Swiss Steak…its awesome!)It was the ultimate in comfort food fests! Charlie’s friend Mary Jane played piano for us during dinner, adding a certain holiday spirit to our night. After dinner we retired to our room to watch The Notebook- a very special move for us. (thank you Charlie for just happening to leave that one out !) After a wonderful nights rest we found fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee & homemade sweet rolls outside our room door!

Breakfast was another story… just over the top! We haven’t been this spoiled in years…almost didn’t want to go home!

Thank you once again…we will be seeing you next December 27th, if not before!

    Best Wishes,

    Absolutely a dream!

We typically stay in hotels when we travel. We’ve been all over the United States. Due to the Football Hall of Fame celebration that weekend we couldn’t stay near a wedding we were invited to in N. Canton. So my husband asked around and researched the next best option; a Bed & Breakfast. Well, the Quail Covey in Hartville, Ohio (not far from Akron or Canton) is the most incredible experience we’ve ever had!
We were curious, even hesitant as we drove down the beautiful tree lined drive to a lovely Tutor home sitting in a panorama of trees, surrounded by beautiful rich flowering gardens and wild life. We were greeted at the front door by Charlotte (Charlie), her warm smile and welcoming home. She showed us around our room, and explained that we could relax in the family room, decks, yard, and enjoy everything there. Our room was huge, and private, (loved the Jacuzzi tub!) but what made a greater impact was the entire home, the grounds and the service and care provided by Charlie and John (Owners).
It was clear that Charlie and John truly enjoy opening their home to others. Everything was cleaned and polished, the gardens in pristine condition. Even the deer made their debut as Charlie was showing us around the house!
We awoke to the beautiful sun rise outside our window, mist lazily rising off the pond, frogs croaking, and Hot Coffee was served just outside our room in the morning. We took our time getting ready for the day, sauntered down stairs with coffee in hand to find Charlie (smiling) pouring us a fresh glass of home made juice (her own blend of pineapple, orange, banana), letting us know that breakfast will be ready in a few minutes. She lead us out to the back deck to enjoy our coffee – so we bird watched, (Cardinals, Goldfinch, Humming birds, Chickadees played in the back yard along the woods), listened to the water falls & babbling waters surrounded by blooming perennials and talked about the fun we had at the wedding the night before. Then we had breakfast inside – on lovely china – Charlie graced us bacon & cheese omelets served with sautéed, home grown zucchini and onions, fresh fruit & custard, home made bread & jam, coffee, water with lemon, French toast casserole (NUMMY!), and bacon. You won’t find a breakfast like that at the ‘hotel & suites’ variety!
When we were done, we found Charlie feeding a tiny baby kitten with warm, nutritious formula. She explained that the mother had died before they were weaned, so she feeds them every two hours!!!!!! Mind you, earlier she had mentioned that while we were at the wedding she’d canned the green beans! What doesn’t she do! She’s an amazing woman.
Obviously Charlie and John love what they do and are fantastic at doing it. If you are traveling to Akron, Canton, the Football Hall of Fame, the lakes near-by, The Maize Valley Winery, the MarketPlace & Flea Market, the Hartville Chocolate Factory, or Quail Hollow State Park then I highly recommend you make a reservation for you and your companion at the Quail Covey!
